CES Business Meeting and Reception at 2018 ASSA Annual Conference
The Chinese Economists Society held a business meeting at the ASSA annual conference in Philadelphia in the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Jan 6, 2018. More than 100 CES members and friends attended the event. Six universities, including Nankai University, Tianjing University of Finance and Economics, Xihua University, Shanghai University, and Henan University, presented their schools and programs to recruit young talents. Professor Gregory Chow (Princeton University) and his wife Paula came to the meeting to show their support and chatted with young scholars before the event began.
Board Director Dr. Carl Lin (Bucknell University) hosted the Business Meeting and the reception. CES President Dr. Zhuo Chen (University of Georgia and University of Nottingham, Ningbo China) announced a series of activities undertaken by the 2017-2018 CES leadership team, including the 2018 CES North-America conference at University of Georgia in Athens, GA on April 5-7, 2018; CES Presidents’ Forum at University of Nottingham, Ningbo China on June 21-22, 2018, the 2018 CES Annual Conference at Hefei University of Technology in Anhui on June 23-24, 2018, and the CES Ad Hoc Committee on Professional Development. Board Director Dr. Qi Li (Agnes Scott College) introduced the Chow Teaching Fellowship program and the Best Paper Award programs. Board Director Dr. Zijun Luo (Sam Houston State University) elaborated on the potential professional development activities.
