Dear CES Members and Friends:
 
As the President of the Chinese Economists Society (CES) for 2017-2018, first please let me congratulate and thank Dr. Jun Ma and his Board of Directors for a successful and fruitful year! In the meantime, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new leadership team who take office on September 1, 2017.
 
The new leadership team (see attached letter) would like to continue flagship CES programs such as the CES China Annual conference, Presidents’ Forum, CES North America meeting, CES/AEA joint sessions and Reception/Business Meeting at the ASSA conference, Gregory-Paula Chow Teaching Fellowship, and Gregory-Paula Chow Best Paper Awards. In addition, we plan to create an ad hoc Committee on Professional Development to facilitate career development and mentoring for CES members at different career stages.
 
Below please find a list of our proposed events and activities in details; please mark these dates on your calendar!
 
2018 CES Reception/Business Meeting at the ASSA conference in Philadelphia, USA, January, 5-7, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday).  (CES Role: Organizer).
 
CES 2018 North-America conference in Los Angeles, CA, USA, April 6-7, 2018 (Friday and Saturday). (CES Role: Organizer)
 
CES 2018 Presidents’ Forum to be held in Ningbo ChinaJune 21-22, 2018 (Thursday and Friday).  (CES Role: Organizer; joint with University of Nottingham, Ningbo ChinaZhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology).
 
CES 2018 China Annual Conference to be held in Hefei, ChinaJune 23-24, 2018 (Saturday and Sunday).  (CES Role: Organizer; joint with Hefei University of Technology).
 
- Selection for 2019 CES/AEA joint sessions at the ASSA meeting in Atlanta, GA, USA, January 4-6, 2019 (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday).  (CES Role: Organizer).
 
More details of these meetings and events will be announced later. As your academic and professional association, we sincerely need your participation and support. We look forward to working with you for the upcoming academic year!
