Greetings from the CES officers of the 2010-2011 term.

Your trust and vote have put together a dedicated and experienced team. It is a particular honor for us, as year 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of CES. My board and I have planned a series of activities in the year ahead, one of which is devoted to celebrate CES 25th anniversary. On behalf of my board, I would like to briefly describe each event here with details to be circulated at due time.

1. CES Presidents Forum. It is to be held on December 10th, 2010 in Tianjin, hosted by Nankai University. This event is to commemorate the 25th anniversary of CES. There will be a special ceremony for the celebration, along with roundtable forums to discuss and debate the emerging economic problems in China and beyond.
2. CES Business Meeting and the Cocktail Reception on January 8th, 2011 at Denver, Colorado. This event will be of particular interests to those scholars who are interested in working at Chinese universities, and those universities who are recruiting overseas scholars, as the cocktail reception will create a venue for them to meet.
3. Chow Short-term Teaching Program. The selection process will begin in November 2010.
4. CES 2011 conference. The conference is to be held from June 17 to 19, hosted by University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). The theme of the conference is “Ten Years after WTO: China and the World Economy”.
5. CES Henan Economic Investigation Tour. The event will take place after CES conference, in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute of Henan Province (housed at Henan University), and the Office of Henan Provincial Government.
6. CES Singapore conference. It will be hosted by Singapore National University. More on this conference will come at due time.
We look forward to working together with you for a fruitful and enjoyable term.

Sincerely,

Yanling Wang
CES President (2010-2011)
