The Chinese Economists Society hosted a Reception at the Sheraton Hotel of Boston on January 7, 2006. More than 200 participants joined the meeting. Professor Jack Hou coordinated the meeting. Speakers included the current CES president (Xiaobo Zhang), several past CES presidents (Wen Hai, Ping Chen, Yingyi Qian, Aimin Chen) and the elected CES president (Haizheng Li), and several representatives from the Business School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Guanghua Business School of Peking University, the School of Economics of Peking University, the Research Center for China Economy of Peking University, the School of Economics of Xiamen University, and the Central University of Finance and Economics. Following the CES business meeting, more than 100 CES members joined a banquet party in Sichuan Garden Restaurant, one of the top 100 Chinese Restaurants ranked in the US in 2005, where people enjoyed dinner, music, and delicious food.
