School of Management in Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) was found in 1940s. In 1955, HIT has found the Department of Engineering Economics and in 1984, School of Management was set up, which is one of important bases for managerial talent education and managerial scientific research in China. At present, subjects setting of the School cross Management and Economics, these 2 subject categories and 4 A disciplines. In the School there are two post-doctoral research fellow programs “Management Science & Engineering”, “Business Administration”, 3 doctoral degree programs which are national key discipline “Management Science & Engineering”, A discipline “Business Administration” and sub discipline “Public Administration”, A master degree programs which cover all disciplines of the School and 4 professional master degree programs. Meanwhile, the School of Management consists of 6 departments. They are Department of Management Science & Engineering, Department of Construction & Real Estate, Department of Business Administration, Department of Applied Economics, Department of Accounting, Department of Public Administration, and more than ten research institutes affiliated with the school, such as Management Science Institute, Technology, Policy & Management (TPM) National Philosophy and Social Science Innovation Base, Information Management & information System Research Institute, Technology Economics & Management Research Center, etc. Moreover, the School hosts three Editorial Departments which formally publish national distributed academic journals “Journal of Management Science”, “Journal of Public Administration” and “Construction Management Modernization”.
