Announcement of Inauguration and Symposium on Property Taxation, Local Public Finance and Urban Development
The Peking University – Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy is proud to announce its formal Inauguration and Symposium on China’s Property Taxation, Local Public Finance, and Urban Development to be held on April 21, 2008 from 9:00am to 4:30pm at Peking University’s Leo KoGuan Building, Room 342. Arnold C. Harberger, Distinguished Professor of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, will give a keynote address on Fiscal Policy Reform: International Experiences. On October 9, 2007, Peking University and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy jointly established the Peking University – Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy.
The mission of the Center is to study land, urban and fiscal policies; to disseminate results from its studies and research; and to facilitate education, training, policy analysis, and research involving scholars, policy makers and practitioners. It aims to provide sound and relevant knowledge, training, and research for dealing with issues and challenges related to rapid urban development and fundamental land policy and fiscal reform in China. We cordially invite you to participate in our inaugural event and symposium. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
