Following the groundwork laid out by former President (and Regent Chair) Prof. Haizheng Li and his Board of Directors, we will continue our relationship with the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES). Their conference this year will be in Moscow (August 28-30, 2008. Please visit http://eaces-conf2008.hse.ru/ for more details). The local organizers may provide low-cost dormitory rooms for young economists (especially those from China).

Prospective participants are invited to submit abstracts of their original research papers for presentation at the Conference on-line at:
http://EACES-conf2008.hse.ru The application should include the following information: the title of the proposed paper, an abstract not exceeding 300 words, and personal contact details (full name, job title, institutional affiliation, current position, postal address, contact phone, fax, and e-mail address). Abstracts should be in RTF, Microsoft Word or PDF formats, should include three key words, and indicate to which theme it is submitted.
Group applications for organizing a session (panel proposal) are welcome as well as individual applications. The panel proposal should include the following information: title of proposed session; titles and short abstracts of papers (not more than 3 or 4 papers for one panel, up to 2,500 characters per abstract); full names, job titles, institutional affiliation and current positions of presenters and discussants (opponents); full name, postal address, phone and fax number, e-mail address of the session coordinator. Sessions will last for 1.5 - 2 hours each. The deadline for group applications is also March 15, 2008.
The Scientific Committee of the Conference will complete selection of papers by April 30th, 2008.

Conference Registration Fees
The conference fee for the EACES members is estimated as follows:
- for non-EU transition countries - 120 Euro (150 Euro - after June 30th, 2008)
- for new EU countries - 160 Euro (200 Euro - after June 30th, 2008)
- for EU and other developed countries - 200 Euro (250 Euro - after June 30th, 2008)
The EACES annual membership fees are not included in the Conference registration fee.
The fee includes the reception, the conference dinner, catering during the conference, and administration. Depending on the total number of participants, the fee may be reduced. Further notice will be communicated in due time.
Non-EU participants requiring financial support are asked to communicate their requests (specifying estimated costs) when submitting proposals for papers/panels. Limited financing may be available.
