Call for Papers – CES Panels at 2011 ASSA Meetings
January 7-9, 2011, Denver, Colorado
The Chinese Economists Society invites you to submit proposals for papers and panels, to be presented at the Allied Social Sciences Association meetings, Jan. 7-9 (Friday-Sunday), 2011, in Denver, Colorado.
The submission deadline is May 15, 2010. Email submissions to Prof. Bruce Reynolds, at
br3p@virgnia.edu. We will notify you of our decision by July 15, 2010.
Please read and carefully adhere to the following directions:
Panel composition: Between 4 and 6 papers, with a discussant for each paper. Provide institutional affiliation and email address for the chair, the organizer and all other participants, a title for the session, and an abstract for each proposed paper. For each participant, provide either a CV or (preferably) a link to a CV.
Responsibilities: The Chair will preside. The organizer accepts responsibility for giving the CES Program Chair current contact information, communicating information promptly to participants, and notifying the Program Chair of problems as they arise. Paper presenters must provide an abstract with this submission, and must provide the paper to the discussant no later than Dec. 1, 2010. Discussants are responsible for contacting the author if the paper does not arrive by then.
Registration and affiliations: all panel participants must register at the Denver meetings. Organizers should urge all participants to join CES. Go to
http://www.china-ces.org/.
Desiderata: We seek papers whose subject matter relates in some way to the Chinese economy, and which connect to a current issue in the economics literature. We will use the abstract, and the author’s CV, to project the quality of the finished paper. We prefer panels with a cohesive theme. We strongly prefer complete panels, but we will consider individual paper submissions.
